Located along the banks of the Pahang River, Pekan is the royal town of the state of Pahang.

With a long & rich history, the royal town of Pekan has today blossomed into a very important industrial center, especially with the establishment of automotive manufacturing and assembling factories. The vehicles produced range from the foreign brands such as Mercedes Benz, Volkswagen, Isuzu, Suzuki, and locally produced trucks, lorries, buses and even military armoured vehicles.

Endau Rompin National Park
The Endau-Rompin National Park is home to a diverse range of flora & fauna. Enthusiasts often pay homage to the country’s most scenic waterfalls such as Buaya Sangkut, Upeh Guling and Batu Hampar, which are all found within a couple of hours’ trek from each other.

Indrapura Karting Circuit
For those who have the urge for speed, Pekan has the Indrapura Karting Circuit, which was once a car-park off the main Kuantan-Pekan road that has been converted into a challenging 1,061m circuit with 19 turns.

Tasik Chini
An hour’s drive out from Pekan lies Lake Chini (Tasik Cini), the largest natural freshwater lake in Malaysia. Among the recreational facilities available there are jungle-trekking, boat rides, and a visit to the Orang Asli settlements.

Pahang Silk Weaving Centre
The Pahang Silk Weaving Centre is located within the Cultural Village at Pulau Keladi. Visitors can also order specially designed patterns of their own from the weavers themselves, with orders taking anywhere from a few days to a few weeks to be completed.

Royal Pahang Polo Club
The exclusive sport of Polo is played at the Royal Pahang Polo Club. Since its inception, Polo teams from around the globe have gathered to play in Pekan, allowing Polo enthusiasts to witness the breathtaking exhilaration of competing in one of the world’s most prestigious sports.

Sultan Abu Bakar Museum
Home to the state’s historical artifacts, the museum is one of the town’s all-year attractions. The collection – which is personally owned by Sultan Abu Bakar includes beautifully carved boats, models of fisherman’s houses and floating huts.

The Royal Palace
Pekan wouldn’t be Pekan without the Royal Palace, which is instantly recognisable from its grand ivory entrance. Built in 1965, the Palace is where the state’s Sultan resides, and is almost hidden in lush, serene surroundings of tropical trees and villages.

The Tun Abdul Razak Memorial Hall
The Tun Abdul Razak Memorial Hall, which exhibits the former Prime Minister’s personal belongings, including his speedboat, favourite golf cart, gifts and souvenirs he received during his lifetime. Deep inside the memorial hall are Tun Abdul Razak’s bedroom and study room, which retain the original furnishings.

Watercraft Gallery
It is located at Sungai Beram, in front of the state museum. It displays watercrafts of different shapes and functions that were once used in the seats and rivers of Pahang. There are several life-sized replicas of the crafts, which never fail to arouse the keen interests of the visitors.

Lata Mentagan Waterfall
The waterfall is a popular picnic spot, thanks to its parking, camp-site, nature trails, rest-hut and toilet facilities. It is located 7 kilometers from Kampung belimbing and 6 kilometers from Felcra Sri Makmur.
