The aim of this programme is to educate students about important theoretical knowledge as well as providing a useful range of employable and practical skills in automotive procurement management. The aim is also to develop close linkages with local industry to ensure graduates know how to fulfil industry needs. Graduates can contribute in various fields within the automotive and services industry such as in supervisory positions in the supply chain management inclusive of inventory and warehousing, sales and marketing, logistics and transportation, procurement and vendor management, and customer service.


The programme educational objectives of this programme are as follows:

  • Knowledgeable and able to solve business related problems in line with industry requirements
  • Effective in communication, able to demonstrate teamwork and good leadership to support their role in an organization
  • Able to practice ethical professionalism and social responsibility
  • Demonstrate entrepreneurial skills and recognize the need of lifelong learning for successful career development
Learning Outcomes

At the end of the end of the programme, graduates will be able to:

  • Understand the methods used by organisations to obtain the right quantities of stock or inventory and warehousing
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the needs of customers, stock replenishment systems and the use of economic order quantities
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the methods for inventory and warehousing management techniques and systems
  • Demonstrate an understanding of how physical stock management techniques and systems work
  • Provide students with an understanding of the basic concepts and functions involved in road freight operation, vehicle management and vehicle maintenance.
  • Introduce the various modes of transportation
  • Manage and resolve business problems related to transportation management
  • Utilise computer resources to research and analyse transportation modes and operations
  • Understand logistics principles, the language of logistics and strategic functions that create value and competitive advantage in logistics management
Career Opportunities

This programme provides opportunities for graduates to occupy technical / commercial and supervisory positions such as Buyer, Logistics/Warehouse, Supply Chain Management, Planning Analyst, and Shop Floor Executive.

Entry Requirements

1) Pass in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) / O-Level with 3 credits in any subjects and pass in English; or

2) Pass in Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) with at least CGPA 2.00; or

3) Pass in Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) Level 3 in a relevant field; AND
– Passed SPM with at least one credit;
– Further diploma programme in the same field;
– If necessary, the education providers should provide bridging programmes as the intensive programme; or

4) Other equivalent qualification recognized by the the Malaysian Government; AND

New Requirement:

* For international students must score for Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) 500 or International English Language Testing Systems (IELTS) 5 or equivalent.

Additional Requirements:

1) Pass in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) with mathematics and English (Bridging programme will be provided)

2) Pass in Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with at least a B grade in three subjects

3) Other qualification that is approved by the University’s Senate
