The aim of the programme is to equip students with the knowledge, competency, skills, leadership and ethical values in engineering technology.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the programme, graduates will be able to:

  • Apply knowledge of mathematics, science and mechanical fundamentals in automotive industry
  • Apply appropriate techniques, resources and workshop tools to automotive servicing activities
  • Design solutions for broadly-defined engineering technology problems, and to design systems, components or processes to meet specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, as well as cultural, societal, environmental and sustainability concerns
  • Plan and conduct experimental investigations of broadly-defined problems, using data from relevant sources
  • Select and apply appropriate techniques, resources and modern engineering tools, with an understanding of their limitations
  • Function effectively as individuals, and as members or leaders in diverse technical teams
  • Communicate effectively with the engineering community and society at large
  • Demonstrate an awareness of safety, health and environment in engineering technology practices
  • Demonstrate professional ethics, responsibilities and norms of engineering technology practices
  • Demonstrate an awareness of management, business practices and entrepreneurship
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the impact of engineering practices, taking into account the need for sustainable development
  • Recognize the need for professional development and lifelong learning
Career Opportunities

The BST graduates entering industry would most likely aspire to an executive or engineering technologist position in various technical areas, such as automotive services and after-sales, workshop operation, production, design, and engineering research and development.

Entry Requirements
  • Pass Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) or equivalent with minimum Grade C (NGMP 2.0) in Mathematics and ONE (1) relevant Science subject AND pass SPM or its equivalent with pass in English subject; OR
  • Pass Diploma (Level 4,MQF) in Engineering / Engineering Technology or its equivalent with minimum CGPA 2.0 and recognized by the Malaysian Government ; OR
  • Pass Diploma (Level 4, MQF) in the field of Vocational and Technical / Skills related and recognized with minimum CGPA of 2.00 and pass in English at SPM level; OR
  • Pass Matriculation / Foundation programme with minimum CGPA 2.00 from PPT recognized by the Malaysian Government; AND

English Language Requirements:

  • International students are required to achieve a minimum score of 5.0 in International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 500 or any equivalent qualification
  • Local students must have qualification in Malaysian University English Test (MUET) with minimum Band 2
